FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

When The Boys Hit The Beach

Yesterday, my Aunt Beth, cousins, and her boyfriend Ryan finally hit the beach.  My aunt and her people tend to run on their own time frame, so I didn’t think they would ever get here yesterday.  The first thing we did is check out the sea turtle exhibit, which was a lot of fun.  If you are in Hatteras, I suggest heading out to check out the museum and they have a very short marsh walk where you have a gorgeous view.  You can also rent canoes there, if you wanted to take one out.

To be a kid at the beach

We then went back and hit the beach, as the rain had finally stopped.  My youngest cousin, Drake, couldn’t resist the water even though we were only taking a walk on the beach.  We then came back and attempted to go out to eat, but couldn’t because the wait was so long.  Ryan grilled for us, which was delicious.  It was pretty late by the time we finished eating, so we made moves towards going to bed.

I was slightly obsessed with the birds here.

I was so happy to see them.  I told my aunt I used to fantasize about graduating college and taking them to the toy store to buy whatever they wanted.  I guess at 15 & 8, they are probably too old for that so taking them on vacation is a better solution anyway.

Strike a pose.
I love them both equally, so the lack of pictures of the oldest is because he was not being as photogenic as the younger kiddo. He’s “at that age” where nothing is cool.

All photos were taken with my Canon 80D.
