FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

Recipe Roundup: KitchenAid Edition

One of my favorite things to make in the KitchenAid is homemade bread.  I use this pretty awesome recipe from Instructables.  If you like homemade bread, this is awesome white bread.  I had some leftover bread for supper today with jam.  Delicious.

One of my favorite recipes that I make using the Kitchen Aid requires a grater attachment.  It is originally from another site, but you can no longer find it there.  Here’s my take on pimento cheese without mayonnaise:

  • 8oz Kraft finely grated sharp cheddar cheese (use your grater attachment to do this in a jiffy!)
  • 3oz Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 small jar diced pimento, drained
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce
  • dash of garlic powder

Mix well together and you’ve got pimento cheese!

Santa Whiskers are another favorite.  I make these every year around Christmas, when it’s easier to find candied cherries.  The McHenry family got me hooked on these!  So good.

Another favorite cookie is my Grinch cookies that I also like to make around the holidays.  They are delicious and easy.  The green color is offputting for some, but kids like it!

This recipe roundup will be ended with a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe. They are so soft and delicious.  I have to stop myself from eating all of the first tray right when they come out of the oven.

Could a lot of these recipes be made without a stand mixer?  Probably.  But the mixer sure makes life easier.  If mine was to die tomorrow, heaven forbid, I’d be replacing it shortly after because it has made my life in the kitchen so much easier.

Mama just got Aunt Beth her first one as a gift, so I partially wrote this for her as I know she will be looking for all the things to make in the Kitchen Aid once she gets comfortable with it.  Mom also got her a rotator shredder/slicer, so I know pimento cheese and cheese straws will be on her baking list soon.
