FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

Much Needed Snow Day!

From my window before they plowed the street nicely.

Today was a snow day.  I haven’t had one in forever.  It’s now 3:00pm and let me tell you I can’t remember the last time I was able to lay around and be this lazy, nor can I remember the last time I got so many things accomplished.  I finished knitting a cowl I had been working on and I made two loaves of homemade bread.  So delicious with jam.

Homemade bread.

One of my coworkers is due in May.  I’ve started knitting her baby a blanket.  I had started to get a little worried about the present, since I literally had not made anything for the baby yet.

Saturday is a big visit day at work, so there’s a lot going on in preparation for that.  I’m thankful we are ahead of the game so not working today won’t hurt us terribly.  Now tomorrow is another story–hopefully the roads will clear up enough for us to return to work so we can get some stuff done.  I’d love another day off, but it’s not very practical.

I’m planning on doing some reviews soon.  I’ve downloaded Ravvit, an iOS third party Ravelry app that looks promising.  I’ve also upgraded to knitCompanion NG, the new next generation application that the team has been working on for a while now.  It took a while to adjust, but I’m thankful for a lot of the changes and Sally, the developer, is very helpful and always willing to listen to the feedback we have about the app, especially in terms of features.
