FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

Life on the Road

The past few days have been busy on the road.  Today I met a good handful of students and had a blast talking with them.  I try to keep the conversations with small groups informative but fun.  I feel like I got to know a good bit about each of the kids because of the comfort level people get around me.

Below are some pictures from last night, outside my hotel room.  I was close to Virginia Tech.  Haven’t quite figured this one out yet.

Tonight’s hotel was locked like Fort Knox, as there was a bank robbery in town recently.  I am on the fourth floor so I’m trying not to be paranoid.  The bathroom left me a rubber duckie below.

I walked to the nearest restaurant from the hotel and quickly found out that kids eat free there on Monday nights.  I left before it got too insane, but still had a face to make about it all.

When I was poking around killing time between a visit I ran into Dick’s Sporting Goods and picked up a water bottle.  I have been dying for a pink Yeti something so I justified this bottle by the fact I don’t have one of those yet.

When I finished everything tongiht, I updated to High Sierra.  So far, so good. I only lost the document I was working on (despite having saved beforehand).  I’m very happy and love all of my Apple products because the upgrades have been easy and I have had an increase in speed across the board with this.

In case you can’t tell, I have been using SnapChat like crazy on my journey.  My username is amanda_cake.  Look me up to continue to follow the madness of life as an admissions counselor.
