FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

KnitPicks Radiant Needles Review

I wanted to get up a quick review of these needles since I’m so excited to have received my package today.

The Radiant needles are gorgeous orangey purple with black cables.

I am in love with the color of these needles.  I have the Harmony (Rainbow) needles, Majestic Needles, Nickel Plated needles, and a set of Lykke Driftwood needles (which I blogged about here).

Needless to say, I’m no stranger to interchangeable sets.  Especially when it comes to KnitPicks, as I already had three sets before pulling the trigger on this set.

I had heard reports of bad quality in the past, but I think these might be even better quality than my original Harmony (rainbow) needles.  They are super slick.

Just to give you an idea of what they look like with something on the needles.
I also ordered the cable needles as well as the set of cable needles to go with my Majestic needles (there were not cable needles available for Majestics when they were ordered eons ago).
As per my typical, I order 10.75, 11, 13, 15, and 17 to round out the collection. The wood colors are gorgeous in the bigger needles as well.

When the needles arrived, I tested all the cables and needles to make sure all the cables screwed in and all the tips were threaded properly.  I have always checked this with all of my interchangeable sets because I don’t want to find out three years from now when I finally use those size 17s that they don’t screw in properly.

One thing that did confuse me was the mention of emerald cables on the back of the package. I’m pretty sure that emerald is green and that the cables that come with the Caspian set are not quit emerald. I don’t think KP makes emerald cables, but if they do they definitely didn’t come with this set, as the cables are black.

I’ve already knit a whole dishcloth with the needles (okay, that’s really not that much as it took less than an hour and a half to complete) and it was smooth.  The tips weren’t super slippery, but they were slick.  No issues with the cables.  I can’t wait to cast on my next project!

Ooh, those do look nicer than my Harmony needles! Between the KP set I already have and my set of Addi Turbo’s I don’t think I can justify a third set, though! LOL!

I couldn’t really justify them either, but “had” to have them!
