FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

Green Screen by Do Ink Tutorial

I recently shared a green screen video of one of my students on my teacher Twitter. It has gotten an amazing response, so I want to talk about how we did it.

If you want to learn about how we did this, please keep reading!

I have an amazing library… I still can’t believe how lucky I am most days. I have a portable green screen that is currently set up in my collaboration room (or Lego room as my students call it).

The green screen

Across from the green screen is a television.

The TV

Using the Apple TV that is connected to the television, students are able to airplay their iPad screens to the TV. Here they can display their script.

We use the Green Screen app by Do Ink. Best couple of bucks that you can spend on the App Store.

You will start by recording a video in front of your green screen using the camera app on the iPad.
When you have recorded your video, you need to open the Green Screen app and tap the add project button.
These are all of the layers that you will see initially. Pay attention to what goes in what layer.
When you tap the plus sign to add your video, you will see all of these options. Pick what you need.
This is what it looks like after I added my animation (top layer), video (middle layer), and background (bottom layer). The background was a beach scene picture that I found online and had saved to my camera roll.
If you tap, you will get access to the edit buttons.
and of course you have your export button!
