Me, holding baby Shara

Hey y’all!

I’m terrible at introductions!  My name is Amanda.  I am working my dream job as an elementary school librarian in Henry County, Virginia. You might find a few awesome children’s book reviews here.

My hobbies include diving into a good book, watching softball (in my next life, I hope to get back to coaching), writing a little bit here and there, and photography.  I’m a long time knitter and crocheter–one of my claims to fame is that blue ribbon I won a few years ago at the Virginia State Fair!  I also enjoy other crafts including making things on my Cricut and machine embroidery. I recently upgraded my embroidery machine and hope to sell a few things here and there.

In May of 2022, I welcomed the most beautiful baby girl into my family. Named after my grandmother, Shara is the light of my life. We share our home with our dog, Charlie Brown.

I hope to share more about my adventures in the library, cooking, and life in general.  I have consistently been an inconsistent blogger, but I’m really looking for a way to connect with more people–crafters, librarians, photographers, softball enthusiast.  I sometimes feel that my blog doesn’t have the best focus, but I guess it is a lot like myself in that it is eclectic.
